Banned cards
Everything you may not register in sanctioned Riftbound, with the dates each ban took effect. Ten names in Standard, eleven in 2v2, and no restricted list at all.
Checked against the official Rules Hub on 28 Aug 2026.· Next scheduled check: the Radiance rules update, 8 Oct 2026.
Riftbound has had two ban announcements. The first, in March 2026, was the first in the game’s history. The second, in July 2026, added three more names to Standard and created a separate list for 2v2 at the same time.
Set and collector references on this page are our own annotation, resolved from the official card data we mirror. Riot’s Rules Hub publishes names only, so if a card here has several printings, all of them are banned.
Standard Constructed
Banned in the format the premier 1v1 events are played in. These ten are also banned in 2v2.

2v2 Constructed
Everything above, plus one more. 2v2 is supported as an event format and gets its own list because two decks can do things one deck cannot.
There is no restricted list
Riot has said plainly that limiting a card to one copy is not a tool they plan to reach for: it sharpens a problem instead of solving it, and it is harder to communicate than a clean ban. So there is exactly one list, the one on this page, and a legal card is legal at three copies.
The two announcements
A ban is published first and takes effect a few days later, so a tournament in between is played on the old list. Both dates are here for exactly that reason.
