Deck tech: how to pilot it
The legend hands you a token every turn, but the trick is that one-might tokens are not for fighting: they walk into empty battlefields and score for free, while the mind-order removal keeps making battlefields empty.
The plan
We play off-tempo: never contest the showdown they want, score from the angle they are not watching. Carrion Dredger multiplies bodies at base, Xin Zhao, Vigilant converts any two of them into a conquest, and Honest Broker makes every exchange cheaper for us.
Mulligan
Take the cheap units that give tokens company (Carrion Dredger, Honest Broker) and one early removal spell: Stupefy or Cull the Weak. This deck has no explosive opening, only openings that refuse to die; the mid-game is where it becomes ours.
The removal arsenal
Cull the Weak punishes a giant standing alone, Imperial Decree pierces nearly any defence, Shadow’s Call sweeps up cheaply, and the standards finish the set: Thousand-Tailed Watcher and Vi, Peacekeeper, found in almost every mind or order deck for the same reason they are in ours.
Closing
Once the score leads, every turn gets easier: Viktor, Leader arrives working immediately, Card Sharp compounds the advantage, and Facebreaker is the last word in the one showdown we genuinely must win. Remember: we do not need every battlefield, only the ones left empty.
Good against
- Volibear Dragons · Every dragon meets a removal spell cheaper than the dragon: they pay nine, we pay five.
- Rengar Pridestalker · A lone big threat is what this arsenal was built to shoot, and the tokens score while he winds up the next punch.
Hard against
- Azir Emperor of the Sands · He plays our token game with more free bodies, and our removal never trades well into a one-might soldier.
- Irelia Blade Dancer · She never leaves a battlefield empty, and her protection spells make our best shots miss.
